The deal
These terms are the agreement between you and Bestea ("Bestea", "we", "us") for using bestea.app and the Bestea app. By using Bestea, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
What Bestea is (and is not)
Bestea is a private, no-judgment journal for the talking stage. It reads your texts, tracks the people you are seeing, and gives you an honest, caring take on what is going on.
It is for entertainment and support. It is not therapy, legal advice, or medical advice, and it is not a substitute for a professional. The reads are one honest opinion, generated by AI, and they can be wrong. The choices about your life are always yours. If you are going through something serious, please reach out to a qualified professional or someone you trust.
Who can use it
You need to be at least 18 years old to use Bestea. By using it, you confirm that you are.
Your account
You sign in through our provider (Clerk). Keep your login details safe and do not let other people use your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.
Using Bestea fairly
- 🩷Use Bestea for your own personal use, not to harass, stalk, or harm anyone.
- 🩷Only share content you are allowed to share, and be respectful of the privacy of the people you log.
- 🩷Do not try to break, abuse, scrape, or resell the service, or get around the free and Bestea+ limits.
- 🩷Do not use Bestea for anything illegal.
Bestea+ and billing
- 🩷Bestea+ unlocks everyone you're seeing and everything tracked over time. Plans are billed through our payment processor, Polar.
- 🩷You can choose monthly ($11.99), quarterly ($29.99), or annual ($95.99) billing. Whichever you pick renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- 🩷You can cancel any time. When you cancel, you keep Bestea+ until the end of the period you already paid for, and it does not renew after that.
- 🩷Prices may change in the future, but we will always tell you before a change affects you.
Refunds
When you cancel, you keep Bestea+ until the end of the period you already paid for, so you always get the time you paid for. We do not refund partial periods after that.
If there is a genuine billing problem, like a double charge or a payment that went wrong, email support@bestea.app within 14 days and we will look into it and make it right.
We do not give refunds to accounts that abuse Bestea or break these terms. If we close your account for that reason, any remaining time is forfeited.
The AI reads, honestly
Bestea's reads and drafted replies are generated by AI. They are meant to help you think, not to be the final word. They will not always be right, and you should use your own judgment before acting on them. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on a read.
As-is, and limits
We work hard to keep Bestea good and available, but we provide it as-is, without guarantees that it will always be perfect or uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, Bestea is not liable for indirect or unexpected damages that come from using it. If we are ever found liable for something, it will not exceed what you paid us in the past 12 months.
Ending things
You can stop using Bestea and delete your account any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or abuses the service. If we close yours without cause while you are on Bestea+, we will refund the unused part.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms now and then. We will change the date at the top and flag anything important in the app. Continuing to use Bestea after a change means you accept the new terms.
